Your drawing may be in graphite pencil (black and white) or coloured pencils. Animals which are black and/or white often look better drawn in black and white.
Normally the drawing will be a ‘head and shoulders’ portrait with minimal background but the whole animal can be included if you wish. Small groups of animals, or several studies of one animal can be drawn - discuss this with Ann. The best size for the drawing will obviously depend to some extent on the size of the animal – a larger than life hamster might look frightening on your living room wall.

Sizes
Medium - up to 300 x 350mm (approx 12 x 14ins) when mounted
Large - up to 400 x 500mm (approx 16 x 20ins) when mounted
Other sizes? Please ask Ann.
Remember that when the drawing is framed the overall size of the picture will be slightly larger again.
Ann sprays all the drawings with fixative on completion. This helps to prevent smudging, especially in graphite work, and stops the waxy ‘bloom’ which can occasionally appear on unfixed pencil work (although this is much less likely with today’s artist quality pencils).
