Good And Bad Photographs
You must send Ann several good clear photos of your pet. It is especially important to have one or more close-ups (these must be in focus!) of your pet’s head, showing the eyes.

Here are some examples of good and not-so-good photos.
First the bad. Although this photograph is well lit the animal is too far away from the camera. The viewpoint is too high as well. It's much better to get down on a level with your pet. If your pet is small enough for you to pick up easily then try standing it on a table to photograph it. The lighting will probably be better than at floor level.

The photo below is much better. (The original photo was postcard size.) The light is still good, but now the eyes are sharp (and visible!) and the camera is closer and level with the dog. The resultant drawing is shown as well. You may find the lighting less of a problem if you take the pictures outside in good daylight. Really bright sunlight can ‘bleach’ the coat colours, though and may cause dense shadows.
